On June 24, the Department of Geography and the Asian Energy Studies Centre at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), in collaboration with the Education Bureau (EDB) and Fung Kai No. 1 Primary School (FK1PS), organised a teacher training workshop titled "Environmental Education Workshop—Applications of Innovation, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence" at the FK1PS campus. A total of 41 participants attended the training, all of whom were primary school teachers from the North, Tai Po, and Sha Tin districts.

The workshop was honored to receive support from the Education Bureau. Mr. TSE Bun Luen, Chief Curriculum Development Officer (Science), kicked off the event with an introduction to innovation and technology education. Following this, Mr. CHU Wai Lam, Principal of FK1PS, explained how to effectively utilise innovation, technology, and AI within school systems to promote environmental education. Two teachers from FK1PS also shared their school's practical experiences, including the "HKBU SEE X FK1PS Junior Energy Auditor" activity, a collaborative project conducted with the team during this academic year. Finally, Dr. CHEUNG Man Wai, Research Coordinator at HKBU, introduced the "Energy Auditor Programme" on behalf of the team. Team researchers then led the participating teachers through a hands-on experience with AI-assisted energy auditing, where they used various measuring tools to collect power consumption data within the venue.
